Photo Club

During the COVID-19 pandemic the Photo Club continues to function virtually and, as possible, with field (socially distant) photo trips

Certain risks are inherent in any photo walk or other Riverhead Photo Club (the “Club”) activity. Each Club member, guest or non-member participant agrees to accept personal responsibility for his or her safety and the safety of minors accompanying them. The Club cannot ensure the safety of any participant at Club activities. In participating in Club activities, each such person agrees to hold harmless and free from blame the activity leaders, the Club, its officers, directors and members for any accident, injury or illness which might be sustained from participating in any Club activities.

The Riverhead Photo Club, which is sponsored by the Friends of the Riverhead Free Library, provides a friendly and supportive environment for photographers of all ability levels to share ideas and knowledge with each other. The club members are friendly and willing to answer questions in an informal and open atmosphere.

Our bi-monthly meetings are held on the second and fourth Thursday of each month. They are currently held via Zoom.

We also aim to promote an interest in photography throughout the community public displays, contests and educational sessions. The club is a member of the Photographic Federation of Long Island (PFLI) as part of a continuing effort to broaden skills and knowledge. Members can participate in monthly PFLI contests.

The Photo Club is planning photo walks to Greenport on April 17th @ 10 AM (rain date April 18), Planting Fields Arboretum May 13th @ 10 AM and Riverhead Street Painting Festival on May 30th (tentative). We invite non-members that are interested in photography to join us. Members will be available to answer questions about photography and the club.

If you wish to join a meeting or would like more information about the club, please contact either:
Adele Wallach at or

New members are always welcome.

Club information and photos can also be viewed on the club’s webpage: and its Facebook page “Riverhead Photo Club”.
