As I embark on this journey —
A message from our President:

Dear Friends-

I would like to thank all the members of the Friends of the Riverhead Free Library for giving me the opportunity to serve as President of the Friends. While this has been an unprecedented time of stress, the Friends look forward to the reopening of the Library and the historic Yellow Barn for used book sales.  We pledge our ongoing commitment to the Library and to the Riverhead community it serves. We will do our best to continue to support cultural programs offered through the Library as well as educational opportunities for children, teens. adults and seniors.

The Board has decided to cancel the General Membership meeting for June, 2020 because the Library is still not available for meetings. We will try to have a General Membership meeting in July.  There will be no meeting in August.

As you probably know, under the guidance of New York State Pause, reopening will take place regionally in four (4)  phases.  Phase 2 in the Long Island area  begins this week and will allow for limited access to the Library (curbside pickup and drop off of materials in the Library bins).  Phase 3 will begin when Long Island meets the criteria for that phase, hopefully in the next few weeks.

I refer you to the Library’s website for more information.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.  I am excited to work with new and continuing members of the Friends and with the Library, its Board of Trustees and the staff.

Please stay safe in this difficult time. I wish you and your families a safe and healthy summer.Best wishes,

Rosalie DelQuaglio
